Resources
Poetry Websites:
http://www.poets.org/ -- Gives you biographies, poems, literary terms, historical context, and recordings of poets reading their own work. It's a good place to go if you like a poem and want to read more work by that author.
http://www.newpages.com/ -- Gives a comprehensive list of current literary journals.
http://www.poetryfoundation.org/ -- Gives articles, news, blogs, recordings, poems, links, etc.
http://www.shakespeares-sonnets.com/ -- Offers a complete collection of Shakespeare's sonnets. A good resource to keep in mind when we're studying sonnets.
http://www.mcsweeneys.net/links/sestinas/ -- An online journal that publishes sestinas.
Literary Readings:
There are two good listserves in Boston that notify you whenever there is a poetry/fiction reading coming up. The first is Daniel Bouchard's (faculty member at MIT) listserve, who you can contact at his email address: bouchard@mit.edu. (Just write to him and ask him to put you on his listserve.) The second good listserve is sent out by the AGNI literary journal. You can sign up for that listserve on their website.
